How data is handled when you use PPP Loan Map.

PPP Loan Map displays public administrative records released by the U.S. Small Business Administration and geocoding fields published by Geocodio. Those records can include borrower names, business addresses, loan amounts, lender information, reported jobs, and other PPP fields. The site does not collect those fields directly from the businesses named in the data.

A public source record is different from information you provide while using this website. See the methodology for provenance and the data-correction process for reporting a display or geocoding problem.

The site does not currently offer public user accounts, mailing lists, or direct payment collection. Like most websites, its hosting, database, map-tile, and security providers may process technical information needed to deliver a request. That can include an IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, timestamps, referrer information, and diagnostic logs.

Search terms, map bounds, ZIP codes, and loan identifiers are sent to the site's data provider when needed to return results. PPP Loan Map uses Supabase for its public data API, Render for application hosting, and third-party map-tile providers for the basemap.

A temporary preview version of the site may use an HTTP-only access cookie to remember that a visitor passed the preview screen. When Google Analytics is enabled, Google processes technical usage information — such as pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser details — to produce aggregate statistics about how the site is used. When Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, web beacons, or other identifiers to deliver, limit, measure, and personalize advertising as allowed by your settings and applicable law.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services on its partner-sites privacy page. PPP Loan Map will use a Google-certified consent-management platform for visitors in regions where Google or applicable law requires consent or privacy choices. Advertising is not placed inside the interactive map controls or on individual borrower-record pages at launch.

• Use the privacy or cookie settings message shown by Google to manage advertising consent and applicable opt-out choices.
• Adjust browser controls to block or delete cookies. Some site or advertising features may work differently afterward.
• Visit Google's ad settings to control how Google personalizes ads for your account or browser.
• Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent your visit data from being used by Google Analytics.
• Contact the site operator to ask about technical information associated with your visit, subject to identity verification and applicable law.

PPP Loan Map does not sell information that visitors submit directly to the site. Technical information may be retained by service providers for security, reliability, fraud prevention, diagnostics, measurement, or legal compliance according to their own terms and retention settings. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
